IT'S ALL ABOUT YOU
Le 1500 is a small group of historic buildings dating back to the Twelfth Century, situated in the heart of Saussignac, a hilltop village on the southerly banks of the River Dordogne in South West France. Owned and operated by internationally renown artist, Michael F Rumsby and his husband, Lee, who has spent two decades managing some of the world's finest luxury hotels, the property is beautifully appointed with an eclectic collection of antiques and contemporary art. Every aspect of the property has been renovated and designed over several years with one thing in mind - ensuring that our guests have the most awesome time with us. Easily accessible from Bordeaux and Bergerac, and a short journey from St Emilion, Medoc and some of the finest world class vineyards, guests can choose from accommodation in one of our private suites or individual rooms. All our guest rooms are ensuite. You'll enjoy a well equipped gym, a poolside kitchen and covered dining area, champagne bar, outdoor cinema, access to the latest technology, including Apple TV and Sonos in the main house and grounds in addition to just being spoilt rotten. From April to December we offer a diverse range of retreat packages for art and wine lovers as well as yoga, meditation and healing retreats.
Our restaurant, Le Cafe 1500, serves freshly prepared, largely organic fare in a beautifully rustic setting either indoors or outside on one of the shaded terraces. The property is a beautiful marriage of contemporary design and medieval history where guests will find a quiet corner to read a book or join the party zone elsewhere. Wander through the village vineyards, work out in the gym, paddle board on the Dordogne river, party by the pool, play golf at the stunning Chateau de Vigiers or sample the magic of our fine local wines and tailored hospitality.
Each of our individual rooms and private houses tells a story. Full of period features, they are beautifully designed in a simple style, each with ensuite bathroom, providing the utmost comfort for an excellent night's sleep.
